A NOTE FROM THE CREATOR
The spark for this musical came from the brilliant, chaotic world of kpop-spy. The foundation of the show—and the lead single, "Oops, Not Mine! (Bye Patricia)"—was born directly from an ongoing gag on that channel that perfectly captures the absurdity of industry rumors and celebrity damage control.
I’ve always been fascinated by the character of Patricia; she is the ultimate "anti-K-pop idol." In an industry defined by hyper-polished perfection, extreme discipline, and practiced humility, Patricia is a breath of neon-pink, vape-scented fresh air. While the world expects idols to be flawless vessels for corporate branding, Patricia is loud, messy, and professionally unaccountable. I wanted to create this musical as a love letter to that specific brand of chaos—to a character who refuses to be the "perfect idol" and instead chooses to be a beautiful, unmitigated disaster. This is a story for anyone who has ever wanted to answer a life-ruining mistake with a simple, melodic shrug.
SYNOPSIS
"Oops, Not Mine: The Patricia Chronicles" is a sharp-witted, neon-soaked musical satire that plays like a Sunday comic strip written by a disgruntled publicist. Inspired by the structural whimsy of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and the cynical bite of Stephen Sondheim’s Company, the show is told through a series of punchy, fast-paced vignettes.
The story follows Patricia, a rising pop star whose primary talent isn't singing or dancing—it’s the art of the "shrug." The plot tracks a frantic seven-week period where the label attempts to merge Patricia with two other struggling acts to create a "Brand-Safe" supergroup.
From a biohazardous "Spleen-Scented" candle line that triggers a localized evacuation to a high-speed tractor-chase through the streets of Busan, Patricia navigates every disaster with her signature pink vape and a total lack of remorse. As her manager, Marcus, loses his hair and his sanity, Patricia leans into the chaos, eventually radicalizing "Angry Uncles" on Discord and claiming the moon is an IKEA lamp. It’s a high-stakes game of viral chicken where the only way to win is to never take the blame.
This is the song that I wrote that inspired to write a whole show around it
