ABOUT JAYRR

Composer, Cellist & Storyteller

01. THE FREQUENCY

The Harmony in Chaos

For as long as I can remember, the world has never been a quiet place. Living with AuDHD means my mind operates as a constant symphony of competing ideas—a rich, sometimes overwhelming environment where music, design, and storytelling constantly interlock. I spent years trying to lower the volume before realizing the complexity wasn’t an obstacle; it was the raw material. I didn't need to quiet the world—I just needed to find the music within it.

Resilience is a design choice.

02. THE PROCESS

The Re-Wired Man

Whether I am composing an original score for The Stage, arranging layered cello sections, or documenting my personal path in The Log, I apply a single philosophy: music is an act of design. By taking the fragmented pieces of a busy, sensory life and arranging them into a deliberate creative structure, I’ve found a way to turn internal noise into emotional clarity.

03. THE VISION

Tuning the Future

Today, my work sits at the intersection of classical training and modern digital composition. Here, a lifelong relationship with the cello meets the possibilities of a digital workstation—allowing me to bring complex, character-driven musical theater to life. I invite you to explore my world, where we don’t just survive the noise; we tune it, we track it, and we turn it into something that resonates.

TACTILE CELLO PLUCKER

Before I used the DAW as my instrument, I spent twenty years learning the physical tension of the strings. Drag your finger or mouse across the cello strings below to trigger a real-time, physical-modeling synthesis pluck.

[ Influences & Insights ]

  • Classical Roots Started playing the cello at age 7, building a lifelong classical foundation that underpins all of my modern song structures.
  • The "Unique Ear" A personal journey in taste, merging the jagged, brilliant dissonance of Michael John LaChiusa with modern songwriting hooks and layered choral textures.
  • Creative Night Hours I find my deepest, most unfiltered creative flow during the quiet night hours, translating raw life experiences directly into songs.
  • Theater Landmarks Heavily inspired by Stephen Sondheim for his unmatched musical architecture, and Jason Robert Brown for his driving, narrative-rich piano composition.
  • Current Work Developing the multi-layered scripts, music, and scores for Songs of a Re-Wired Man and Mid-Life Adjacent.

The Transformation: Unmasking Mind & Body

By 2022, I was technically a musician and an actor. But internally, I felt completely blocked. A deep, heavy depression was drowning my creativity, my ambition, and my voice. I was carrying a burden that I couldn't write music for. That was the moment I stopped trying to just play along and decided to radically rebuild my life. I underwent Gastric Sleeve surgery, and it was the smartest decision I ever made.

The result of that surgery wasn't just physical. Yes, I lost 200 pounds, but I also shed the heavy, emotional armor that was keeping my authentic self from being seen. As the physical weight came off, the mental static began to clear. I realized that my long battle with depression wasn't just situational; it was deeply intertwined with a sensory-heavy, neurodivergent operating system I had been trying to mask my whole life.

With a lighter physical frame and a clearer mind, I finally had the perspective to seek support and treatment for my AuDHD. What I once viewed as an obstacle, I now understood as my natural wiring—my unique lens on the world. This clarity allowed me to embrace my natural hyper-focus, giving me the strength to manage a demanding schedule, late-night writing, and a dedicated 6-day-a-week fitness routine.

Artist Philosophy

"I spent twenty years learning the rules of the orchestra and the stage. Today, I use technology as my creative partner—a tool to capture the quiet hours of the night and turn raw, honest human experience into song. Welcome to my studio."
